My QR code isn’t working. What should I do?

There could be a number of reasons why you might be having trouble scanning your QR code.

We have created a checklist to help you identify the problem:

1. Did you check if your phone is compatible with eSIM?

If you’ve already checked whether your phone is compatible, you can move to step 2.

If you’re not sure, check in your Settings under Cellular or contact your provider.

If your phone isn’t compatible, you won’t be able to purchase the eSIM from Red Bull MOBILE at this time. 

You also need to make sure that your device is unlocked.

2. You aren’t able to scan the QR code from your phone’s camera.

Go to your phone’s Settings menu > Cellular> Add eSIM > and choose the option to scan the QR code. Follow the prompts.

3. Do you have a WiFi connection?

You will need a WiFi connection to  install an eSIM.

If you’re not connected to WiFi, you won’t be able to scan the QR code.

We recommend installing an eSIM before you travel so you have a reliable and stable Wi-Fi connection.

Install your eSIM before you travel but don’t activate it for mobile data just yet. Wait until you arrive at your destination and then activate data roaming.

4. Want to install your eSIM manually?

If you are still unable to scan your QR code, there might be a problem with your phone’s camera or system set-up.

Every purchased eSIM has a reference number that you can use to activate it.

You should have received the reference number in the same email as your QR code, or you can check in the App where you purchased the eSIM.

When prompted to scan the QR code, tap on “Enter Details Manually” and enter the data that was sent to you when you purchased the eSIM.

5. Have you already scanned your QR code?

The QR code can only be scanned once.

If you scanned it multiple times, you might receive a message saying: “Data plan cannot be added”.

Maybe your eSIM was already installed successfully. Go to your Cellular settings to check if the eSIM is already on your phone.
