International Soccer Tournament 2026 – Guadalajara

Soccer fever is gearing up and the countdown to summer 2026 is already building excitement.

The International Football Tournament returns to North America and this time for the first time it will be with 48 teams competing across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament will be held from June 11 – July 19, jointly hosted by sixteen cities—eleven in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada.

It will be the first international soccer tournament to feature 48 countries instead of 32, making it the biggest in history.

The opening ceremonies are being coordinated across Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Toronto.

Guadalajara hosts 4 group-stage matches at Estadio Akron. The stadium opened in 2010 and is home of Chivas Guadalajara. The capacity is around 49,000 for the tournaments.

The atmosphere at the Guadalajara games will be incredible. Crowds are known for nonstop singing, giant flags, and great energy.

Transportation will be more difficult than in Mexico City or Atlanta. The stadium is on the western side of the metro area and isn’t as transit-connected. Expect major traffic, heavy rideshare demands, and long post-game exits.

The best way to get to the stadium is to take the Mi Macro Periférico BRT line, exit at Estación Estadio Chivas, and walk via the dedicated pedestrian route (“Andador Chivas”).

The walk is usually about 10–20 minutes.

Arrive very early as security is expected to be intense.

There will be several fan zones in Guadalajara, like Plaza de Armas or Guadalajara historic city centre.

Get ready to discover iconic landmarks, world-class venues, vibrant neighborhoods, and 39-days of fan celebrations across the region.
