When you buy a contract phone, it’s not uncommon for the service provider to block other providers’ connectivity. If your phone is locked, you usually have to wait until your contract expires — we suggest checking with your provider to find out whether they can unlock it for you. While your phone is locked, you won’t be able to install an eSIM, unfortunately. Yup, that’s something that frustrates us, too.

When you’ve used up 80% of your data, we’ll let you know — so you won’t get stuck without any.  You’ll get another notification once your data has finally run out.

An eSIM is very much like a regular SIM – but not removable. An eSIM allows you to have two service providers on a single smartphone. Think of it as having two SIM cards in one device – your existing “physical” SIM card and a second “electronic” SIM. You can use the Red Bull MOBILE eSIM app for data connectivity when you travel to different countries.

Sim Card

Usually your eSIM profile will be installed automatically. In case this doesn’t work out, try different options:

  1. Make sure you have deleted your eSIM profile from all previous devices.
  2. Try installation by scanning a QR code provided in Profile -> eSIM information. For this you would need a second device to scan it from.
  3. Try manual installation. Copy eSIM profile values and enter them in settings of your mobile device manually.

This is a data-only plan, so there’s no need for a new number.

The Red Bull MOBILE eSIM data plan is designed for use abroad, when you visit any of the countries covered. So it’s best to activate it when traveling.

First, check if you’ve switched roaming to ON in your phone settings. Next, check whether you have coverage. If you find yourself in an area with limited phone coverage or no coverage at all, it’s going to be difficult to access the internet. Try switching locations and make sure you have sufficient bars to connect to 3G or 4G/LTE.

Unfortunately, you can’t at the moment.

Sure. Your physical SIM will stay connected and your Red Bull MOBILE eSIM will, too — they work simultaneously. You can select which of the two SIMs you want to use for data connectivity in your settings.

If your eSIM didn’t download, you should be able to tap retry.  If, after a few tries, you’re still not successful — please drop us an email at support@redbullmobile.com

Check your email; we have sent you login instructions together with the app download link. If you can’t find the email or haven’t received it yet, please get in touch at support@redbullmobile.com; we’ll get back to you very soon.

The eSIM is associated with your data plan, and deleting the eSIM app will delete your phone’s data plan — so you should avoid doing so. If you have an issue or have accidentally deleted it, drop us an email at support@redbullmobile.com, and we’ll help you figure it out.

In some cases the Personal Hotspot doesn’t work automatically. If this is the case, follow these simple steps to activate it. Go to:Settings > Mobile Data > Choose Red Bull MOBILE data plan > Mobile Data Network.

Please enter “webapn.at” (without quotation marks) in the APN fields of both MOBILE DATA and PERSONAL HOTSPOT sections. Username and Password fields should be left blank.

Set your phone data plan back to your home service provider in your smartphone roaming and data settings when you get back from your trip.

Just go ahead and drop us an email at support@redbullmobile.com – we’ll get back to you soon.
