Cairns is a city in tropical Far North Queensland, in Australia. It is considered the gateway to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
It is where the rainforest meets the sea and two World Heritage sites unite. You will find lush jungles from the Daintree Rainforest tumbling to the edge of secluded white beaches of the Great Barrier Reef. The soft sand disappears into world-class dive sites, where clownfish are looking back at you from the colourful coral.
The best time to visit the area is between June and October, when the weather is just right. However, if you are interested in turtle hatching season, you should visit during December to February.
