Trieste is a city of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in northeast Italy. It is a port city and occupies a thin strip of land between the Adriatic coast and Slovenia’s border on the limestone-dominated Karst Plateau.
It is home to the world-renowned coffee brand Illy and boasts numerous historic cafés. Trieste is also known as the coffee capital of Italy.
